A residential home or business phone used to be the only way to communicate, which seems strange for us now. Cellular calls did exist in recent decades but such calls were rare and expensive and involved much expensive equipment. Now cell phones are so common everyone has at least one. Computers were used a few years ago simply for work or word processing or spreadsheets, and of course the internet did not really exist in the way it does now, as it was a scientific and research network. Today everyone uses the internet from their computers, inf act the internet is available on many cell phones where people they can surf on the move. Cellular or mobile devices and even multi use gadgets such as mp4 players are so commonplace today. It would be strange to think of living without this new technology.
